New home PC setup
A new PC out of the box still needs a significant amount of configuration before it is genuinely ready to use. We handle every step: completing the Windows initial setup correctly (local account vs Microsoft account — we explain the difference and set it up the way you want), installing all outstanding Windows updates, removing manufacturer bloatware that slows the machine down, configuring your email accounts, installing your essential programmes, connecting and configuring your printer, and setting up your browser with bookmarks and extensions transferred from your old machine.
Data transfer from your old computer
Moving your files, photos, documents, desktop, and downloads from an old machine to a new one is the part people worry about most — and rightly so. We handle the full data migration: connecting to your old machine either directly or over your home network, copying everything that needs to come across, verifying the transfer is complete and uncorrupted, and confirming with you that nothing has been missed before we leave. We do not rush this step.
Microsoft 365 and software activation
If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, we install and activate Word, Excel, Outlook, and the rest of the suite on your new machine. We also handle antivirus setup, printer drivers, cloud storage configuration (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox), and any specialist software you use — accounting packages, photo editors, design tools — within the time available on your visit.
Business workstation and office setup
New staff workstation setup
When a new team member joins, they need a working computer by their start date. We set up new workstations to your specification: Windows configuration, joining your domain or workgroup, mapping network drives and shared printers, installing business software, creating user accounts, and configuring email in Outlook or your preferred client. We coordinate with you in advance so the machine is ready when your new employee walks in.
Office relocation and IT reconnection
Moving office is one of the most stressful IT events a small business faces. We manage the IT side of an office move: disconnecting and labelling all equipment at the old premises, reconnecting everything correctly at the new location, patching the network, testing every workstation, and making sure shared resources — printers, file servers, NAS devices — are accessible before the working day begins. We work around your move date and can arrive early or stay late to minimise downtime.
Microsoft 365 Business setup
Setting up Microsoft 365 for a business — adding users, configuring email domains, setting up SharePoint or Teams, deploying to multiple devices, and configuring security policies — is a job that benefits significantly from doing it correctly from the start. We handle M365 business tenancy setup and deployment across your team, ensuring everyone can access what they need and nothing is left open that should not be.
Custom PC build and setup
If you have ordered a custom-built PC through our Custom PC Builder service, we can deliver and set it up on-site as part of the same appointment — connecting it to your network, transferring data from your old machine, and configuring everything to your preference. No additional callout charge applies when setup is booked at the time of a custom build order.
Pricing
Home PC setup is available as a flat-rate 2-hour home visit at £130, which covers the majority of single-machine setups including data transfer. Business workstation setup is charged at £85 per workstation for standard configuration, with office relocation and multi-device projects quoted individually. Microsoft 365 business deployment is quoted based on user count and complexity. All pricing is confirmed in writing before work begins.
