Every machine we collect is assessed individually and directed to the best possible outcome. This is not a recycling operation — it is a reuse operation, and the destinations are real and local.
Affordable computers for elderly residents
A large proportion of the machines we collect end up in the homes of elderly customers in the West Midlands who need a reliable computer but cannot afford to buy new. These are people who want to stay connected with family, access online services, and stay independent — and a well-maintained refurbished machine does that job perfectly. We prepare each machine thoroughly, install a clean copy of Windows, and make sure it is set up simply and ready to use. For many of our elderly customers, a donated and refurbished machine makes a real difference to their daily lives.
Local charities
We supply affordable or donated computers to local charities and community organisations in the West Midlands. Charities often have tight budgets and real IT needs — reliable machines for their staff and volunteers make their work easier and more effective. Repair workshop stock
Many collected machines — or their components — go directly into our repair workshop as spare parts and loan stock. A screen from a donated laptop fixes another customer’s machine. A set of RAM modules brings an old desktop back to life. By keeping quality components in circulation, we can repair more devices at lower cost and pass those savings on to our customers.
Higher-specification machines sold at market rates
Where collected equipment is recent, high-specification, or of significant residual value — a recent-generation business laptop, a workstation with a fast processor and plenty of RAM — it is refurbished to a high standard and sold at market rates through our refurbished hardware channel. This revenue supports the rest of the programme and is what allows us to offer the collection service without charge and to supply affordable machines to those who need them most.
Secure data destruction — every device, every time
Before any machine moves to any of the above destinations, every storage device it contains is securely wiped using licensed data destruction software registered to Mojoo Limited. The software generates a certificate of destruction for each individual drive — recording the make, model, serial number, wipe method, and date. Copies of these certificates are available to donating businesses on request, providing a clear and documented record for GDPR and data protection purposes. What we collect
We accept desktop PCs and towers, laptops, monitors (LCD/LED), servers and networking hardware, printers, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and general IT peripherals. Equipment does not need to be in working order — non-functional devices are useful for spare parts. We do not collect mobile phones, tablets, CRT monitors, or consumables.
Areas covered
We collect from across the West Midlands — Birmingham, West Bromwich, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Tipton, Oldbury, Smethwick, and surrounding areas. Home users and small quantities are welcome to drop off at 4 Atlas Grove, West Bromwich, B70 9EB, Monday to Friday 9am–6pm, Saturday 9am–12pm.
