Just send your drive to us via Royal Mail Special Delivery (which includes up to £750 of insurance as standard), and we’ll take it from there. Step 4 — The Recovery Itself
The recovery process depends on what type of failure we’re dealing with.
Logical failures — such as accidental deletion, accidental formatting, corrupted file systems, or partition errors — are handled using specialist software tools. The drive is physically intact; we’re essentially rebuilding the map to your data and extracting it safely.
Physical failures — where the drive is clicking, not spinning, making grinding noises, or not being detected at all — require a more involved approach. We work in a controlled, cleanroom-level environment to open and assess the drive’s internal components, replacing or bypassing damaged parts as necessary before attempting to image and recover the data.
Standard turnaround is 1–5 working days for most recoveries. If you need your data urgently, we offer a priority service with a turnaround of 24–48 hours — just let us know when you get in touch.
Step 5 — Getting Your Files Back
Once your data has been successfully recovered, we’ll return it to you in one of two ways: on a brand new USB drive (included in the price), or via a secure download link if you’d prefer a digital handover.
Before we close the case, we ask you to verify that the files you needed are all present and correct. We don’t consider the job done until you’re satisfied. If something isn’t right, we’ll look into it.
